Kahunify was founded in 2013 to use our passion for marketing to help organizations thrive. We chose the Hawaiian word “Kahuna” to represent our expertise. When we “Kahunify” an organization, we make it more successful, or a “Big Kahuna” in its space. But since Kahuna can also mean “wave,” and the Latin suffix “-ify” means “to make,” our name literally means “to make waves.” We thought that was pretty clever (and it didn’t hurt that the domain name wasn’t taken!).
Your success is our success, so as our client, we want you to have a great experience working with us. To provide consistently stellar interactions, we hold ourselves to three tenets:
- Impact. Above all else, we want to help you achieve your organizational goals through smart marketing. While creative, our work is always based on thorough research, testing, and years of experience in the field.
- Responsiveness. As a small company, we’re faster, nimbler, and easier to work with than larger agencies. We prefer focus more energy on getting results rather than red tape.
- Honesty. We’re passionate about helping our clients, and we keep your organization’s best interests at heart. “Overpromising” and “underdelivering” are not even in our vocabulary.

Meet the Kahuna
Kara Gladish has spent her entire career in the digital marketing and client experience fields. At Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business, she majored in marketing and international business. After graduating with honors, she returned to her hometown of Indianapolis to join ExactTarget (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and served as the Voice of Customer Program Manager. Her innovative client satisfaction initiatives led Forrester Research to name ExactTarget a Voice of Customer Award finalist in 2012. Kara also developed and taught a “Social Media and Digital Marketing” course at IUPUI’s Community Learning Network for adult students.
Entrepreneurial by nature, she founded Kahunify in July of 2013. A hater of cold weather, she moved to Florida for two years, but as a lover of Indy and its people, she moved back in 2017. When she’s not being a marketing kahuna, she loves painting, biking, cooking, perfecting the home she and her husband bought in the Old Northside neighborhood, and exploring everything Indianapolis has to offer.
